Parent Council

“Parent Council provides an excellent forum for discussing topics that matter in an open and transparent way. The outcomes of these meetings make a big difference to the way we go about our day-to-day practices at Birchwood.”

Katie Horwood, Chair of Parent Council

The Parent Council was established in 2017 to help the school work with and engage representatives of the parent body. Each year group has 4 parent representatives, resulting in 24 parents in total on our Parent Council. Meetings are run on a termly basis and are attended by Mr Griffin.

Topics discussed at Parent Council include:

  • Target setting in Interim Reports
  • Extra-curricular provision
  • Mental Health provision
  • Homework quality and quantity
